EENEE is a network of leading European centres and experts on economics of education.

Objectives

As an EU “Think Tank”, EENEE is sponsored by the European Commission, Directorate General Education and Culture (DG EAC) and coordinated by the ifo Institute. EENEE aims to contribute to the improvement of decision-making and policy development in education and training in Europe. The network advises and supports the European Commission in the analysis of economic aspects of educational policies and reforms. EENEE also aims to disseminate knowledge on the economics of education in Europe.

For this purpose, the network set up a website on economics of education in Europe, which serves as an information device also for journalists, practitioners, policymakers, and other interested people. The website provides quick and easy access to information on recent policy-relevant research in the economics of education, as well as on experts in different countries and in different areas of the economics of education. Furthermore the website offers references to the key topics of the economics of education. Analytical reports and EENEE Policy Briefs are also available for download. The Database of European Researchers in education economics is an open platform. This general list of education economists in Europe offers researchers interested and working in the area the opportunity to present themselves and their field of interest to the European community of researchers and practitioners in the economics of education.
