CIDER Spring Workshop 2026
The Future of Education: AI and the Digitalization of Education

The CIDER Spring Workshop 2026 took place from April 28-30, 2026 at the ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research in Mannheim. It was organized jointly by the ZEW, the Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology, and the Institute for Educational Quality Improvement (IQB), in cooperation with the CIDER Coordination.
The workshop brought together around 30 Fellows, along with Steering Committee members and invited experts for three days of interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration in Mannheim. The workshop combined individual presentations by the Fellows, two keynote lectures, and intensive work in Micro Groups, creating space for both scholarly discussion and the development of joint research ideas.
