Doctoral students at IDS are offered the opportunity to do a doctorate with a thematic link to their project work. In this way, experience with both theoretical and empirical-methodological approaches can be gathered directly from the scientific project work. In addition to the opportunity to do a doctorate, which is offered within the framework of post-doctoral funding through the corresponding funding programmes of the Leibniz Competition, the IDS strives for doctorates at appropriate interfaces within the network.
