This project examines the impact of the ecological transformation on labor demand, its consequences for employees and social policy, as well as adaptation processes and solutions for socially equitable climate and environmental policies.
The following research questions guide the work:
(i) To what extent does the ecological transformation change labor demand, and what are the consequences for individual employment trajectories—particularly regarding job stability, wage development, unemployment risk, and occupational mobility?
(ii) What are the aggregate effects on income inequality overall and across regions? What implications does this have for the social security system and its instruments, especially the minimum wage?
(iii) To what extent do education and training currently contribute to equipping employees for the ecological transformation and counteracting skill shortages? What adjustments are required in education and training due to the ecological transformation, and how can these be implemented?
