{"id":29625,"date":"2020-02-24T07:57:09","date_gmt":"2020-02-24T06:57:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.leibniz-bildung.de\/?post_type=projekte&#038;p=29625"},"modified":"2023-08-14T00:56:36","modified_gmt":"2023-08-13T22:56:36","slug":"reach","status":"publish","type":"projekte","link":"https:\/\/www.leibniz-bildung.de\/en\/research\/research-projects\/reach\/","title":{"rendered":"REACH"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The cooperation project \u201cREAching young adults with low ACHievment in literacy\u201d (REACH), which was sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmbf.de\/bmbf\/en\/home\/home_node.html\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.bmbf.de\/bmbf\/en\/home\/home_node.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BMBF<\/a>), was led by the Stiftung Lesen (German Reading Foundation). REACH was aimed at young adults between 16 and 35 years old who are on the so-called alpha-level 3 \u2013 a special group among adults with poor literacy: They profit most strongly from remedial programs for their long-term professional life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"focus-of-reach\">Focus of REACH<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p> The project focused on young adults between 16 and 35 because \u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They can have the greatest and most sustainable benefit from remedial programs,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Addressing them early will hopefully lead to maintaining and strengthening their reading competence,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Addressing them will motivate and empower them to become reading role models for their children.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To find ways of access, there was a necessity to identify \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>(Key) persons and locations through which target groups can be reached,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communicative approaches and pathways such as the media,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Content-related links: topics, fields of interest, and activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"goals-of-reach\">Goals of REACH<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reviewing the suitability of access ways, which can already be derived from practical experience,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identification and review through characterizing the target group in the most differentiated and precise way possible,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analysis of living conditions, features, habits, and mindsets (e.g., media usage, activities in social media, living situation, family  situation, interests and habits during leisure time, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve this, no new data was collected, but rather existing data was used as effectively as possible, and linked with each other.
