A major component of CIDER are regular CIDER workshops as well as CIDER-LERN conferences organized by the participating Leibniz Institutes. The CIDER-LERN conferences are also open for educational researchers from outside the CIDER network. Here, young scientists come together to present and discuss their current research projects, exchange ideas, and form scientific collaborations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CIDER Spring Workshop 2026<\/span>The CIDER Spring Workshop will be organized by the Institute for Educational Quality Improvement (IQB)<\/a>, the ZEW \u2013 Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research<\/a> and the Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology<\/a> in collaboration with the CIDER Coordination. The workshop will focus on the topic \u201cThe Future of Education: AI and the Digitalization of Education\u201d and will take place at ZEW in Mannheim.<\/span><\/div>

CIDER IV Final Conference 2026 with presentation of the CIDER Public Science Award 2026<\/span>The final conference of the CIDER IV Cohort will be organized by the Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education (IPN)<\/a> in collaboration with the CIDER Coordination. The conference will take place at the IPN in Kiel. Further information will follow.<\/span><\/div>

CIDER IV Kick-off Workshop 2024<\/span>The CIDER IV Kick-off Workshop 2024 was organized by the DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education<\/a> and took place at the DIPF in Frankfurt am Main. The workshop\u2019s main goal was to introduce the new Fellows to each other. The program offered plenty of opportunities to get to know each other, with formats like poster presentations, an open space focusing on shared research interests as well as different social events. Furthermore, the Fellows got an introduction to the three central research topics by interdisciplinary talks from different disciplines, which were given by CIDER alumni from the last cohort and CIDER seniors.<\/span><\/div>

November<\/span>2024<\/span><\/div><\/div>
CIDER Fall Workshop 2024<\/span>The CIDER Fall Workshop 2024 was organized by the ifo Institute \u2013 Leibniz Institute for Economic Research at the University of Munich<\/a>, the German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW)<\/a> and the WZB Berlin Social Science Center<\/a> in collaboration with the CIDER Coordination and took place at the ifo Institute in Munich. As part of an input session, CIDER alumni reported on their experiences of working within interdisciplinary Micro Groups. Afterwards, the new Fellows had the opportunity to present data sets for potential collaboration in Micro Groups. Finally, there were paper presentations in which the Fellows presented their own papers commented on by discussants from other disciplines.<\/span><\/div>

CIDER Science Communication Workshop 2025<\/span>The CIDER Science Communication Workshop 2025 was organized by the DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education<\/a> and took in Frankfurt am Main. As part of the workshop, the Fellows received training in science communication and, together with actors from the press, sensitized each other to the functional logic and needs of their respective professions and fields of activity. The highlight of the event was the Science Communication Lunch on April 30th titled “Education in Dialogue: Research Meets Journalism,” a panel discussion among various actors dealing with science communication.<\/span><\/div>

November<\/span>2025<\/span><\/div><\/div>
CIDER-LERN Conference 2025<\/span>The CIDER-LERN Conference 2025 was organised by the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi)<\/a> and the Federal Institute for Population Research (BiB)<\/a> in cooperation with the CIDER Coordination. The conference, which is open to educational researchers both within and beyond the CIDER network, took place from November 10\u201311 at LIfBi in Bamberg and brought together more than 70 participants for keynotes, panel discussions, and opportunities for academic exchange.<\/span><\/div>
