November 18, 2022 <\/em>| CIDER-LERN Conference 2022<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n
<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The CIDER-LERN Conference 2022 took place from Nov 7-9, 2022, at the University of Luxembourg, and was attended by 54 educational researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the CIDER-Fellows, the Conference started on Monday with a stimulating Welcome Talk by Aigul Alieva<\/a>, who informed about the history and projects of the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research, LISER<\/a>. Afterwards, the winners of the CIDER Public Science Award 2022 were presented (see news section).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday, the CIDER Fellows were joined by additional researchers from the LERN-network and other (inter-)national research institutions. The day started with an inspiring Key Note by Dave Baker<\/a> from Penn State University<\/a> on “The Cognitive Impact of the Education Revolution”, followed by paper sessions, in which the participants presented and discussed their own work. In the afternoon, a joint trip to the pretty town of Esch-sur-Alzette was undertaken, where two guided tours offered interesting information on the history of Esch. The evening was completed by a delicious dinner at the Kulturfabrik Esch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Conference ended with a lively plenum discussion on Wednesday, in which four CIDER Fellows from different cohorts discussed the subject \u201cEducational Research and Societal Crisis\u201d on the basis of a stimulating Input presentation by Anna Vignoles<\/a> (Leverhulme Trust<\/a>). Finally, the Conference participants were invited to join the LuxEra Opening speech given by Justin Powell<\/a> from the University of Luxembourg<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hope all participants left Luxembourg with new ideas and impressions and are already looking forward to the upcoming CIDER events in 2023!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
